Great to see a developer going the extra mile, considering that the remote control for Pro Tools comes at about £80! And that makes you wonder about Logic Pro, which is made by Apple, and whether it wouldn't it be a great idea to have a remote for the iPhone, which is made by Apple, that controls Logic Pro, did I mention it's made by Apple? and maybe also Final Cut Pro, Garange Band, which I believe are also made by Apple. I know, it makes no sense, but then it probably follows the same logic as Starbucks refusing to sell you a 'small' coffee, they call it 'Tall'.
For the TV and film composers out there: do you find that Reaper works for you in this regard? I've been using Cubase for so long, and it does have some fantastic features specifically for scoring to picture (calculating hit points, process bars, etc.) that save loads of time.just wondering how Reaper has been for some of you in this regard.Steinberg has released a free remote control for iPhone and iPod Touch which works on Cubase 5 and Cubase Studio 5 (by the way, if you were to guess, which one would you think is th e cut-down version of the two? I will tell you: it's the one called 'Studio'. Once a multi-out instrument is assigned, is there an easy way to change the amounts of outputs?Ĥ. Is there a way to show FX inserts in the actual mixer so that one doesn't need to mess around with a separate window? This is really helpful for a fast work flow (for me anyway).ģ. Multi-tool with modifier keys, as far as editing: I know that there are some things you can do with modifier keys, but can you also (a) turn the cursor into a simple cut (scissors) tool, (b) slip audio while maintaining the same start and end points?Ģ. I've been auditioning Reaper and would like to know if these features (which are some of the great things about Cubase) are in here, in some fashion:ġ.
I'm a television/film trailer composer with super tight deadlines at times, and I've gotten near the end of my rope with Cubase in some ways.
